It's been awhile since I posted any travel pictures, so I thought I'd share some from one of the most beautiful places I have ever laid eyes on. This is Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, Central America. This man used birds to read fortunes. You gave him your money, then he pulled one of the birds out from the cage. The bird used its beak to retrieve a little paper with a fortune written on it. Here was my fortune:
These children performed a traditional dance for us.
This painting depicts a "Romeo and Juliette" type legend about the lake...two star-crossed lovers are supposedly responsible for a strange current that sweeps the lake.
We visited a women's cooperative that showcases traditional Mayan weaving.
These are traditional Mayan woven blouses called "huipiles."
In my eyes, Lago Atitilan is quite possibly one of the most enchanting places in the world...
So, what is the most beautiful place you have visited?
