Outfit: Benefit Dinner

New Classics

New Classics by artaslife featuring golden jewelry

This look is based on what I wore recently to a beef and beer fundraiser for the family of a friend.  I had to go from work to the benefit dinner, so I stuck to a classic and low key-yet pretty-style.

Here are a few of my actual pieces:

Watch from Ebay

Scarf from 89 Cents Direct

Necklace from 5.99fashion.com

Outfit: Evening Class

Class night

Class night by artaslife featuring leather cowboy boots

This is just an outfit I wore to class recently. For "Indian summer" days, I like to hang onto summer just a little longer by pairing a summer dress with more season appropriate pieces.

What is your favorite season to dress for?

Outfit: Summer Into Fall

Indian Summer

Indian Summer by artaslife featuring riding boots

This is an outfit I wore recently to the last of the summer night markets in Chinatown.  It was still pretty warm, but beginning to be a little chilly in the evenings.  I paired a tribal print summer dress in Autumn tones with tights and a jean jacket for extra warmth.  I accessorized with tan knee boots and bag, and turquoise jewelry.

Winter Into Spring Wishlist

Casual Change of Seasons

I've always been a fan of floral prints...they just seem so pretty and girly. I have always found myself drawn to floral designs. Lucky for me that floral prints are in style for 2014 and I'll be right on trend.  I really like the mix of floral and sporty that I've been seeing lately.  So, here are a few cute and casual picks that I think are perfect for making the transition into spring.

Polyvore Looks: Stylish Stripes

My mind is always dreaming up new outfit combinations..it is like a sort of mental outfit math where I calculate different possibilities based on the specific pieces I have.  Sometimes when I come up with an idea for an outfit, or see an outfit I like on someone else, I quickly sketch it out.  Lately, though, I've created a lot of looks on Polyvore instead.  Polyvore just looks so much neater and more fashionable than a sketch, and I there is something enjoyable about tracking down items that are similar to mine and creating sets.  So, I thought I'd share a few outfits that I created based on striped items from my own closet.

Personal Style-Magazine Inspiration

I am extremely indecisive and I don't feel that my sense of style is well-defined.  In an attempt to develop better fashion decision-making skills, I started a "look book" where I choose a few items that I really like from any catalog or magazine that I happen to have.  Its nothing fancy-I just glue or tape the pictures into a spiral notebook.  I have been keeping my look book for more than a year now and I feel that it does help me to see patterns in my personal taste and focus more on the styles that I am most drawn to.

You can see my earlier look book posts here and here.

The following are looks I've collected over the past six months or so.  When I began, my only sources were People Stylewatch and catalogs such as Delia's and Alloy.  Now, I

have subscriptions to various magazines, so my look book has gotten more diverse.

I like to keep nail polish advertisements with swatches of their newest colors.  It gives me an idea of the trendy colors for that season, and sometimes instead of buying new, I can stay on-trend by using similar colors that I already own.

So, would you say your style is well-defined or very fluid?  How would you describe your personal style?
